In the next 2 days I got email from HR person saying my complaint has been received and it will be investigated. We had an "information gathering" meeting soon after. I was asked why I did not complain before when the stated incidents happened. I had replied - I come from a socio-religious background where patience, tolerance and forgiveness are part of life and unless it reaches a threshold point I did not have to and most importantly Greg was not my direct manager until then, so it did not matter much. I had made efforts at dialog but there was no enthusiasm from him anyway. All that I had stated in my letter also. We discussed few things but I pretty much repeated what I said in my letter since it was quite detailed. HR person said she will do a climate survey, investigation and get back to me in few weeks.
Racism could be directed at group or at a particular individual. Since the workplace had changed dramatically during my tenure, people in and out, I had my doubts even before the investigation regarding this climate survey. Also HR would do only verbal communication on one-on-one basis leaving no paper trail. I expressed those concerns more than once. After the meeting I conveyed my disagreement and wrote my *second letter to HR* expressing my concerns about lack of transparency and lack of objectivity. Then sent an addendum also.
- Racism is a serious blot on any Company's reputation. So instead of solving the problem denying that there is a problem and working towards that goal was the preferred easier approach. It's just that I did not make it that easy for them, you will know if you read all my letters and emails hyperlinked here.
- Admitting racism exists leads to admitting guilt and that opens a can of worms, legal troubles like lawsuits and such, they wanted to nip it in the bud.
- Simple, no brainer one. Manager was a white man. Between a white man and brown man whom will they protect? Initially the tone was denial, indifference, refusal to accept evidence and later it shifted to "blaming the victim". These are well known techniques that were used with great precision in history. Diversity values are just a facade!
- Typical office politics. Between manager and developer who is well-connected, who has better public relations and such. It's the GOB network. Objective truth and righteousness be damned!
- Well versed in prejudice related matters I debated with HR and exposed the flaw in their reasoning, analysis, method of approach and conclusions. Note that I did not get a response to any of my letters. I dared to shred Eurocentrism. Probably nobody did that before, no Indian for sure, I proved to be their nemesis. So it's better they got rid of me!
- Indians are sizeable chunk in IT workforce here and they wanted nobody else to raise their head about prejudice that exists here wherever it does, and it does and they wanted to nip it in the bud. They could have protected the white man without punishing the brown man but doing the latter will have an added effect of reminding the non-whites that nobody dares to complain against a white man!
- I exposed that JPMorgan Chase HR that is supposedly the guardian of Diversity values is self-contradictory, it's not diversified enough to guarantee equitable treatment for a non-white person. Hence the problem is systemic. Either they were not aware of it until now or if they were aware they did not do it for a fundamental reason - diversification leads to dilution of Eurocentrism. Thus lack thereof tantamounts to Institutional racism!

Police enquiry into religious conversion. Foreigners vacate hotel and run away
From USA, a group composed of 30 came to Thanjavur. They stayed in over 25 rooms rented from a hotel close to Thanjavur railway station. They registered to stay until March 18 in the hotel rooms.
They announced that they would go to villages surrounding Thanjavur to promote HIV-AIDS awareness camps and organize many such camps. They also paraded on cycle rickshaws in Thanjavur city. Thanjavur BJP functionaries learnt that the foreigners were indulging in evangelization and religious conversions in the guise of AIDS awareness camps. Following this lead, yesterday night, BJP City President Vinayakam, Kumbakonam VHP Jt. Secretary Swaminathan, Advocate Santanakrishnan, RSS Suresh, Balaji conveyed the information to Thanjavur SP Anand Kumar. On the orders of the SP, Thanjavur Police Inspectors Shivabhaskar, Murugavel and many policemen rushed to the star hotel and started investigations. The foreigners informed the police that they went around many villages in Thanjavur region to create AIDS awareness and did not indulge in evangelization.

Orissa, India. August 24, 2008: Swami Laxmananda Saraswati, the 80-year-old monk who spearheaded the anti-conversion movement in Orissa's tribal dominated areas for decades, was shot dead at his Jalespata Ashram under Tumudibandha block in Kandhamal district late Saturday night. Director-General of Police Gopal Nanda confirmed the murderous attack on Swami Laxmananda Saraswati's ashram.
Swami Laxmananda Saraswati came to tribal-dominated Kandhamal in 1966. Since then he has been leading a campaign against conversion activities of Christian missionaries. He has also been in the forefront of the campaign against cow-slaughter. It was because of his sustained efforts that thousands of tribals who had embraced Christianity returned to the Hindu fold. Swami Laxmananda Saraswati had served tribals, mainly Kandhs, in the region. His main ashram is located at Chakapad in the same district. The place where he was killed houses a residential school for girls and an ashram.

In fact some missionaries and Christian educational institutions openly refer to tribals, Hindus, and Buddhists as Satan ka bachcha (children of Satan) while Christians are Ishwar ka bachcha (children of God).
We heard several heart-rending tales of teenage boys or girls having been thus expelled from their families when they refused to convert, accused by their own parents of being "Satan". Converted families are then instructed not to have contacts with the non-Christians, as a result of which they refuse to take part in traditional harvests and other aspects of the community's collective life; the centuries-old harmonious working of the community suddenly becomes divided, and indeed division is a great way to secure conversions: "divide and convert", until you can "divide and rule". That ultimate step is already visible in the militant movements of the North-East, most of which are rooted in Christian ideology. Witness the conversions the militants secure at gunpoint in remote villages at night, a fact asserted to us repeatedly. I remembered a Don Bosco father in Tamil Nadu telling me a few years ago how "tribes have no future within the Indian Union" and explaining why he was exhorting them "to take up guns". It all fell into place."

During his 1998 visit to India, for example, Pope John Paul II bluntly stated that the Christianization of Asia is "an absolute priority" for the Catholic Church in the new millennium. He openly likened the Vatican agenda for that region to its conquest of the Americas in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Pope blesses YSR to turn AP into 'Christa Pradesh'
The November 9 edition of the "Deccan Chronicle" newspaper carried an interesting news-story. The Pope Benedict XVI, the global head of the Roman Catholic Church, has reportedly sent his blessings to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. Samuel Rajasekhar Reddy, an evangelical Protestant of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
The blessings were conveyed by Archbishop of the Hyderabad Diocese, Marampudi Joji, who visited the Vatican city on November 7. Recalling his meeting with the Pope, Joji said: “The Holy Father enquired whether the Church in our state faced any difficulty in carrying out her mission. I told him that in Andhra Pradesh, the Church faces no persecution, and we carry out their ministry without much difficulty."
“The Pope is keenly aware of the rising trends of evangelical sects and he asked me about the Catholic Church’s relationship with other churches.” The Archbishop reassured the Pope that the “ecumenical relationship shared with other Churches is very good”. Joji explained that in his diocese of Hyderabad, there are 100,000 Catholic [converts], 600,000 Protestant [converts], and four Protestant bishops, and they all consider him to be their Patriarch and Archbishop.
This news was also reported in the November 11 edition of the "Asia News" website, an Italian Catholic portal whose banner is the previous Pope John Paul's war-cry against the Hindus and Buddhists of Asia.

His message delivered to packed audiences in lecture hall throughout Britain, his gospel message was distinctly worldly: Missionary work in Africa could succeed only if it marched hand in hand with commercial enterprise. Together, he argued, Christianity and commerce produced civilization. By the end of the century, more than 90 % of the continent had been claimed by the imperial powers of Europe. The whole African continent had become an exclusive poker game in which no player dared leave the table for fear that another might walk off with the pot.

On November 6, 1999 Pope John Paul II in his sermon at the Sacred Heart Cathedral of New Delhi, openly stated, "Just as in the first millennium the Cross was planted on the soil of Europe, and in the second on that of the Americas and Africa, we can pray that in the third Christian millennium, a great harvest of faith will be reaped in this vast and vital continent [Asia]"
Christians have always portrayed non-Christian civilizations as backwards, underdeveloped, superstitious, and barbaric. What really underlies all of their criticism is that these cultures do not accept Jesus, the Bible and their western way of life. This is what, in the Christians’ opinion, deems these cultures as needing their help, when in fact the their fervor to destroy any theistic conception other than Christianity or any temple other than a church shows that they are really the ones who are showing the qualities of barbarians.
In retrospect, these various ethnic cultures were far better off before the introduction of Christianity, as it had nothing better to offer them. In reality, these cultures were decimated, their histories were erased, their cultural traditions eradicated, their former religions destroyed and they were left more unhappy than before the arrival of Christianity.
There have been many revisions in the teachings of Jesus Christ since it first took hold some 2,000 years ago. But until the xenophobic and iconoclastic teachings of the Bible are corrected, mission activity will yield the same catastrophic results. As taught in the Bible, 'we can know a tree by its fruit,' these evangelists need to adopt a more pluralistic theology, recognizing the divinity in other religions and the contributions of other cultures and further recognize that theirs is not the only path to salvation. Suffice it to say, until these things have been corrected, that to label such endeavors for Christ as good works or pious activityis wrong.
Otherwise, in this modern age, those deemed with good intelligence, who are advanced in philosophy and science, have no other choice than to condemn these preaching activities worldwide, which seek to destroy ethnic cultures. Mission activities need to be monitored and the conversion agenda needs to be reconsidered. The Pope Must Preach Real Harmony, Not Religious Intolerance.
